Piscataway's Town Council and Mayor have worked aggressively over the years to bring Corporations to Piscataway. The purpose is to offset taxes that residents pay. Corporations that establish themselves in town bring in a large amount of tax revenue.

Many years ago Township officials had the foresight to create a corporate corridor. Corporations that move to Piscataway are contained, for the most part, along Centennial Avenue, Hoes Lane and Stelton Road with additional Corporate Park areas off each of these roads. Easy access to Route 287 and Route 18 make Piscataway a desirable location for many corporations. Access to these major highways is provided without going through residential areas. When the Route 18 extension is completed, direct access into town will be made possible, along with the necessary connection to Route 287.

Along with large corporations, the town has many businesses that meet the needs of its residents. Restaurants, supermarkets, sporting goods and home improvement are just a few of the businesses around town. These businesses not only bring in tax revenue, they also provide services and entertainment to all Piscataway residents.

Rutgers the State University is located right here in Piscataway. This is an exceptional university which offers a quality education to everyone who attends. Many Piscataway High School graduates are accepted to the university. Also located in town is the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). This university is the largest institution in the nation that teaches health sciences. Piscataway is proud to have these great universities right here in our backyard.
